Your Impactful Role
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the Front Desk Supervisor will manage and coordinate the daily operation of the surgery center. Organization, attention to detail, prioritizing problem solving and multitasking are necessary to ensure a high level of customer service. Customers include patients, physicians, vendors, clients and staff.
- Demonstrates a courteous, friendly and professional demeanor while he/she greets and checks in patients, visitors and vendors.
- Collects payment from patients; manages a daily collection log for co-pays, balances, deposits,. Prepares deposit and arranges for courier pick up.
- Maintains the cleanliness and tidiness of the patient waiting rooms (replenishing coffee, etc..)
- Screens every visitor and respond accordingly. Adheres to all company procedures and policies for receiving deliveries (Fed Ex, UPS, USPS, couriers, etc.)
- Maintains a friendly and professional demeanor while answering and routing phone calls.
- Verifies patient’s demographic and insurance information. Makes appropriate changes in the EMR system to ensure all patient information is correct.
- Assesses patient needs (wheelchairs/ambulation requirements) and assists with vendor drop-off, patient pickup, etc.
- Reviews patient satisfaction scores for the site and assesses patient satisfaction comments to address areas of opportunity
- Formulates a comprehensive relationship with the Physicians and members of the Clinical Staff.
- Trains new staff.
- Orders and maintains office supplies and break room inventory.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Two years of customer service experience in a high-volume, multi-unit medical practice.
- Knowledgeable in basic billing functions, basic clinical functions, administrative practices, and operational procedures in a medical setting.

The employee may be required to be on their feet much of the day and may need to push, pull, or transport patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs. These duties can be stressful, particularly when dealing with injured individuals. There is potential exposure to anesthetic gases, hazardous chemicals, blood and body fluids, sharps, and cleaning solutions. The employee frequently is required to move all extremities within a full range of motion, as well as stoop and bend at 90 degrees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
